Reiki Therapy: Assessing its Efficacy in Complementary Medicine and Spiritual Healing

Reiki therapy, a form of energy healing rooted in ancient Japanese practices, has garnered attention in both complementary medicine and spiritual healing domains. This paper critically assesses the efficacy of Reiki as a therapeutic intervention. Through a comprehensive review of empirical studies and theoretical literature, it examines the impact of Reiki on physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. The paper explores the mechanisms by which Reiki purportedly facilitates healing, including the channelling of universal life force energy to restore balance and promote relaxation. Additionally, it discusses the integration of Reiki into complementary medicine approaches and its potential benefits as a spiritual healing modality. The findings highlight the diverse applications of Reiki across healthcare settings and underscore its role in holistic patient care. Finally, the paper suggests avenues for future research to further elucidate the therapeutic effects of Reiki and enhance its integration into mainstream healthcare practices.
