The Effects of Reiki Therapy on Stress Reduction in Healthcare Settings: A Systematic Review

This systematic review investigates the impact of Reiki therapy on stress reduction within healthcare settings. Reiki, a form of energy healing, has gained popularity as a complementary therapy for alleviating stress and promoting relaxation. The review synthesizes findings from a comprehensive search of peer-reviewed literature, focusing on randomized controlled trials and observational studies conducted in healthcare environments. Key outcomes assessed include physiological measures of stress such as heart rate variability, cortisol levels, and self-reported stress scales. The review examines methodological rigor, intervention protocols, and variability in outcomes across studies. Additionally, it considers the role of Reiki practitioners' experience and patient characteristics in influencing treatment efficacy.
